Where Will You Open Your Eyes After Death?

‘WHERE WILL YOU OPEN YOUR EYES AFTER DEATH’

We at times have heard of people who have shared or expressed their near death experiences, or you have seen via media, I.e. tv, movies, etc. the person describing a light at the end of the tunnel; however, there was that other view or description if you will, which is not appealing at all, as a matter of fact it is just down right scary and hellish.
Far too many want to talk about heaven, but far, far fewer dare to engage in a reality discussion regarding ‘HELL’.  Hell is known as the final residence for those who have rejected God, and will endure eternal punishment for their alignment with Satan.  When our eyes close for the last time on this side of life, they will open again, the question that begs to be answered is, WHERE?
There was a rich man who died according to scripture, and he lifted [opened] up his eyes; what did he open his eyes to?  His eyes were opened to a beggar who also died as he himself, whose name was Lazarus, and he saw him in the distance, a man who while he was alive sat at his  door-step begging crumbs [scraps of food] with sores all over his body which the dogs would lick which aided in lessening his pain.  The uncanniness of this, is that both fellows died within a time span  close to the other; it is noted that when the rich man died he opened his eyes in torment and in a place called hell. Ref. Luke 16:23
When you examine the word torment, you must realize that it is severe physical or mental suffering and unpleasantness to an intolerable measure, and in the case of the rich man, with all of his earthly possessions on this side, he could not do anything about it; remember this and keep it in the forefront of your mind, ‘he could not do anything about his situation in hell,  and neither will you if your eyes open up there (in hell)!  Ref. Luke 16:24-31.  We as God’s human creatures far too often will not address the factual reality that ‘the bible is real?’  And because we do not deal with its reality, we opt to deal with only one aspect and view point which is what I will call the ‘Bright Light Perspective’.  The bright light perspective is that we will all see the bright light of Jesus ushering all into heaven after we die, but based upon scripture again, I beg to differ, note Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV) 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,.. It must be noted ‘There is judgement beyond the Grave’ and because there is judgement beyond the grave Jesus does not want you to be  hanging in the balance and found wanting   Why is one in the balance, and wanting, its because there was a refusal to recognize and accept that God’s Son Jesus Christ, is the only way to an eternity with God. You have to realize that Jesus has always had the heart of man in His view and due to His omniscience He knew if the heart was evil or if  it was covered by the blood. God kept in His view the actions of man whether good or bad, for nothing was or is ever hidden from Him view! So no matter what mans thoughts or deeds are or were, they are never bypassed or chalked up as insignificant if the spirit of sin was embedded at the time of eye closing which culminates in death. One of God’s actions will be to pull the cover off everything, and if the heart from which the covers are being pulled off of has not repented on this side of the river or been forgiven through Christ’s shed blood on the cross, that heart will be in the balance and found wanting. Man’s whole earthly life is on display before God, so there is no escape from those things which were against an all wise and Holy God, if there has been no repentance which would have assured a heavenly place as opposed to a reservation to Scheol via first class departure via Jesus Christ.  Ref. Matt. 7:23 & Luke 13:27
Again far too many believe their eyes will open in heaven, and again scripture disagrees for if one desires to continuously fulfill the flesh’s will, they will have given way to sin having the right of passage in their life, and when sin has its way, it brings forth death as an eternal consequence: James 1:15 (NASB) 15 Then when lust[sin] has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.

Comments regarding opening one eyes in Hell/Sheol, Job states in chapter 7:9 that “ when a cloud evaporates, it’s gone for good; those who go to the grave never come back.” Job also states in 10:21-22 “21 Before I die and am buried before I’m nailed into my coffin, sealed in the ground, 22 And banished for good to the land of the dead, blind in the final dark?” Also read Psalms 49:14.  Below you will find an excerpt testimonial of one who experienced what was not the light of Jesus.
This story follows: "I (Dr. Rawlings) was giving CPR to a patient when the following incident occurred. I inserted a pacemaker through the shoulder and guided it through the vain into Charlie's heart. His heart stopped so I began to pound on the his heart, but as I did blood spurted out, I stopped to adjust the pacemaker. And as I did, Charlie's eyes would roll back in his head, he would sputter, turn blue, and convulse. This happened several times. Once while I was stopped to adjust the pacemaker Charlie screamed, 'Don't stop, don't stop, I'm in Hell, I'm in Hell.' Hallucinations, I thought at first, but most victims say, 'Take your big hands off me, your breaking my ribs,' but he was saying the opposite 'For Gods sake don't stop! Don't you understand, every time you stop I'm in Hell. When he asked me to pray for him I felt downright insulted. I told him to shut up, I'm a doctor, not a minister or a psychiatrist. Then the nurse gave me that expectant look. What would you do? That's when I composed a make believe prayer. I made him repeat the prayer to keep him off my back. Say it! Jesus Christ son of God, Keep me out of Hell. And a very strange thing took place. He was no longer that wild-eyed screaming lunatic. It was then that I too (Dr. Rawlings) became a Christian."
"I (Dr. Rawlings) was watching a monitor to guide a pacemaker into my patients heart when it happened: his heart stopped. This is the story. The patient recounts his story in this way: I blacked out and then you (Dr. Rawlings) hit me on the chest saying 'excuse me.' ... Somebody was yelling. Something crashed over my left shoulder, everybody went crazy. And then I was out of it. I was floating, pitch black, moving fast. The wind whistled by and I rushed toward this beautiful blazing light. As I moved past, the walls of the tunnel caught fire. Beyond the blazing tunnel a huge lake of fire was burning like an oil spill. Elongated shadows showed that people were moving aimlessly about like animals in a zoo enclosure. Down the hill I saw an old friend who had died -- the last I recall they were dragging the river for him, 'hi there Jim' I called out. He just looked at me, didn't even smile. They were taking him around the corner when he started screaming: I ran, but there was no way out. I kept saying 'Jesus is Lord, Jesus is Lord.' Suddenly I was back in my body, as you were putting in the stitches."
For one to open their eyes to death and destruction for an eternity is something far too many have no real grasp of the realness of it all, I say to you do not wait until you have crossed over to realize that hell is real and there is no return or exchange.  The exchange took place over 2000 years ago on a hill called Golgotha upon a cross with the body of one Jesus Christ who exchanged His innocense for all of guilt and shame, so that we would not have to open up our eyes in hell.  I now again ask the question Where Will You Open Your Eyes after death, you would seriously want to ponder the query and take action to ensure your eyes do not open unto torment and death, which is eternal separation from God.

Please stay tuned for the conclusion: Opening your eyes in Heaven and seeing the true Light of Christ.
