‘WHERE’
in or to place: used to indicate the place in which something is located or happens
Often
one will hear the question asked ‘where’, where seeks to establish in what location or the whereabouts of someone, or something they are looking for, and even an event that is taking place, for example where are my keys, where’s the party,
coming out of a mall one might ask of self, where did I park my car, or even more common you can hear family and friends echo this question: Where are you going or where have you been? Some might even venture to ask the question of where do you see yourself
several years from now, and you would be amazed as to where some say they want to be! Some will even tell you ‘where’ to go!
Needless to say, one
has to have clarity and understanding, to know where they are coming from contextually, which in aids the process of knowing ‘what’ their purpose is; when there is knowledge of ‘where’ one is going,
contextually there can be understanding as to where, they are and even where they are going, or possibly where they have been. Example, if one is in a life of crime, one should understand that very possibly where they will
end up, is in jail! Knowing where one has been establishes history and can give a back drop to their purpose or lack of purpose. Looking into Job 1:7, God asks the question of Satan, ‘where are you coming from’,
and when Satan responded, he was walking through earth and on it, it was not that the LORD (YAHWEH) was ignorant of where Satan was coming from, it was a part of the conversation they were having. This same line of questioning can be found
in Gen. 3:9, when God was talking to Adam, and asked ‘where’ are you?
We as human beings have a situation on our hands, and it
is this situation we were born into that should give us great pause, to question and challenge ourselves as to ‘where’ we are going. To understand this, we must first know where we were before birth. We were in the womb where
we were conceived in sin and shaped in iniquity, therefore, if we do nothing to challenge the sinful situation we found ourselves in at birth; one would be able to surmise our ultimate destination will be a place called Hell, and Hell is not ‘where’
anyone would want to go!
There is a story in Genesis chapter 27, that deals with the first three words of this series which is: Who, What, Where.
There is a situation in Beersheba (the where) wherein Jacob, Esau’s younger twin, (the who’s) deceived (the what) his father Isaac into giving him the blessing of the firstborn. The blessing apparently conveyed the status of head of family apart
from the status of heir. With his crass lies and deception, Jacob even hinged upon blasphemy, using God’s name to further his deception, by lying on God; The father’s blindness deepened the pathos. While Esau was out hunting, Jacob cooked up some
venison and brought it to his father pretending to be Esau, when Isaac asked Jacob Who he was, Jacob replied NASB 27:18-20 "I am Esau thy firstborn"; 19I have done as you told me. Get up, please, sit and eat of my game,
that you may bless me." 20Isaac said to his son, "How is it that you have it so quickly, my son?" And he said, "Because the LORD your God caused it to happen to me."
When you fully know who you are and what you are about, you play an important part in where you are headed! My question at this point is, to have you ask yourself, where are
you going? By what you live and practice will determine where you will end up, and it will be either with God, or it will be with Satan and all of those who chose not to go where Jesus Is. Where are you, are you in the loving arms of Jesus, or are you caught
in clutches of the adversary or maybe within the grip of your own disobedience, everything can not be blamed on the devil, we must take responsibility for where we are headed. Where can be many places, but are they the right places, you need to ask yourself
that question.
My objective is for you the reader to take pause and ask some very important questions, such as who you are, what are you about, where are you going, when is
it going to happen, why are you doing what it is that you are doing, and how is it going to be at the end of your road, between God and you? Just giving you enough to think about if you seek answers use the comment section of the blog, and I will by His Grace
get an answer for you. Be blessed
