WHAT IS TRUTH?

There was an extremely and very important question asked by Pilate of Jesus, during His trial, which was given as a response to his earlier question, when he asked if Jesus was a king. Read John 18:37-38. It is plausible and appropriate for Pilate to ask such a question due to his nature (natural man), especially in light of 1st Corinthians 2:14; one can see that Pilate was just not getting it, and when he confronted the Jews to tell them his findings, which were, he found Jesus not Guilty! Pilate then proceeded to challenge the Jews that they may release the King of the Jews (Jesus), based on their custom during Passover, to release someone from jail, and those rowdy Jews cried out give us Barabbas who was a robber.

The question Pilate asked Jesus, was "what is truth?" found in verse 38 of John 18... therefore I pose that same question, ‘what is truth?’

Truth based on the dictionary goes something like the this: 1. the true or actual state of a matter: He tried to find out the truth. 2. Aligning with fact or reality; verity: the truth of a statement. 3. a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like: mathematical truths. 4. the state or character of being true.5. actuality or actual existence.

In order for something to be believed as a truth, it must be borne out as a verifiable fact, and that which has been verified has to be received as a truth, where there has been nothing skewed (skewing truth is to twist the truth so it conforms to a specific concept, attitude, so the results will be different; putting a slant on the real facts)! When there is a slant on the real facts you have a lie!

What is truth? Truth is knowing that in the flesh one will not be able to understand the things of the King, whose Kingdom, is not of this world. Professing that someone is your king, you must first believe and have faith in that one you are calling a king, and I use for Ref. Hebrews 11:6.

However, you will never be able to understand or receive the truth of the King whose kingdom is not of this world, if you abide in the flesh, for the natural man does not understand the things of God, and why is that, the why is, if the spirit of God does not dwell in a person, and you have not allowed God to set up residence in your heart, you or that person will not be able to understand or receive the things of God. For one to understand the truth, one must have the spirit of the Truth abiding within. Jesus, one must realize, as He says in His word, is that He is the way, He is the Truth, and He is the life, so how can you understand truth if Truth is not in you? Ref. John 14:6

What is truth? Truth is: if you or I have not the Truth in us, we are and would be of our father the devil, why would that be, it would be because we would do just what our father the devils does, we lust, we murder, and most definitely, we lie just like him, for he is the father of lies, and there is no truth in him.

What is truth? Truth is the lust of the flesh will move us further away from the Truth, and once we are out there in our lusts, sin begins to manifest through out our being, and once sin is borne out, when it is finished, it ends in death.

What is truth? One day I became weary, I was wounded, I was sad, and I sought the Truth (Jesus) because I was sinking deep in sin, and sinking to rise no more, but when I called upon the Truths’s name (Jesus), He heard my despairing cry, and lifted me out of my sadness, healed my wounds, took away my weariness giving me beauty for ashes, along with giving me new life. Now that’s a truth!

What is truth? Knowing Jesus in the power of His might and in the power of His resurrection.

What is truth? Truth is knowing that if you confess or if I confess he is faithful and just to forgive. Ref. 1st John 1:9

What is truth? Rain comes from the clouds, and humming birds do fly, and someday when this life is over I will fly away to be with the Truth forever and forever. What is truth? I am healed by the wounds in His side, I can do all things, I am more than a conqueror! I can go on and on about what is truth, but I will end it here with the following:

What is truth? JESUS IS TRUTH AND 24Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25(ESV)
