‘True Change Comes When The Saints Humble Them Selves To God’
We want things to change, we want things to go back to the way they use to be, we want this generation of people to do what we use to do; but
the more we try to impress upon them, the more we are faced with you are old school, an old fogey, you need to be more tolerant of the times and accepting of the changes being made. I.e. same sex marriage, people actually believe their own hype, some are truly
believing a provocateur is a victim and a true victim is the feared one.
I hear people cry out we need government to intervene, some want justice, others want
revenge, and some decry, just go with the flow, even some who say they know the Lord are making some of the same chants of helplessness, discouragement and despair. Some are even speaking in such a manner that is even more divisive than those who do not know
God. People are being manipulated by their own thoughts and are making decisions without proper counsel.
Those who are spiritual minded may be even missing
the following point, and the point is this: we look for others to get us out of our dilemmas when we are part and partial to our own setbacks. What is it that I am saying, we have made gods in our lives and have pushed the True and Living God, up and out!
God is not an up and out God, but some have made Him an outside God, and have allowed money, children, spouse, job, status, friends (so called), to be the one at the center of our lives. The list could go on and on, but you should get my drift.
I have been reminded by an all familiar passage of scripture, and I know you have heard or read it before: 2 Chronicles 7:12-15(NLT 13At times
I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, 1 [when there is no rain crops fail and die and the crops you have planted will be devoured] or send plagues among you 2
[your plague can be an illness, a lost job, identity theft, a dysfunctional family, etc.] 14Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.
Verse fourteen should echo and reverberate in our hearts if we are children of God, in this verse God did not say if the aint’s who are called, He said if my people, who call on His name would just realize they have messed up, by following
other gods, got involved in the lusts of the flesh drawn away by ungodly desires using their feet to run and do evil; would just humble themselves at His feet, and do a one eighty, He would forgive our sins and restore, do you not think it is time for a restoration.
We have to turn from our wicked ways and seek His face, not you mamas face, not your friends face, not face book, but the face of the Lord, who says His eyes and ears will be open and attentive to our cry. I am also reminded of a favorite verse of mine which
is in 1st John 1:9, and states "if I confess, He is faithful and just to forgive and will cleanse from all unrighteousness."
You want to go back to something, go back to the True and Living God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, He is also your God, so humble yourself at His feet and be blessed!!!!
